The Clive showing occurs in the contact area of Upper Triassic Stuhini Group rocks that are intruded by quartz dioritic rocks of Middle Triassic to Late Triassic age.

In 2010, Clive Aspinall on behalf of the Aspinall-Dawson partnership conducted a 1 day prospecting program on tenure 832466 about 1.25 kilometres west of the Metla zone (104K 161) Ten silt and 5 rock samples were collected. A float sample assayed 174 grams per tonne gold, 378 grams per tonne silver and 0.11 per cent zinc; an adjacent in situ rock sample assayed 21.7 grams per tonne silver, 0.58 per cent copper and 0.15 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 32184).

By 2010, the property was part of the larger Metla property. See Metla (104K 161) for further geological details and property work history.

In 2017, In the summer of 2017 the field crews investigated areas of interest outside of the main Metla Creek corridor as well as outcrop newly revealed by the retreating glacier. A ground magnetic survey was also conducted over the main zone of interest. Rock and soil sampling (89 rock and 9 soil) returned significantly anomalous results. At least 9 rocks samples (6 float, 3 outcrop) were taken in the Clive (Copper Ridge) showing area. Rock samples consisted of granite, epidote kaolinized rock, argillite, limestone and breccia often mineralized with quartz, chalcopyrite or pyrite. One of these samples taken from outcrop hosting a 5 centimetre wide quartz vein assayed 1 per cent copper and 20.7 grams per tonne silver (Sample J953577, Assessment Report 37092).

In 2018, Stuhini Exploration Ltd. contracted Geotech Ltd. to conduct A VTEM (versatile time-domain electromagnetic) airborne survey. The survey covered 419 line kilometres over the entire Metla property. The 2018 VTEM survey covered the entire property at 250 metres spacing and the Metla Creek Area at a detailed 100 metres spacing. The Borge (104K 160), Metla (104K 161) and Clive (104K 173 held as part of the Metla and were covered by the survey. The survey revealed conductive anomalies and proximal magnetic lows paralleling the surface trace of the Metla Creek Structure.

In 2020, Brixton Metals Corporation completed a program of geochemical (rock and soil) sampling, a 12.5 line-kilometre ground induced polarization survey, a 715 line-kilometre airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey and 19 diamond drill holes, totalling 5292 metres, on the area of as part of the Thorn property. Drilling was performed on the Outlaw (MINFILE 104K 176) occurrence area.

See Metla (MINFILE 104K 161) for further details.
